gourds and roses

I provide ongoing  instruction to the Visalia Garden Club on a wide range of gardening topics but I have enouraged them to  grow Gourds in their home gardens this past year.  Many of the members are now growing their own.  I gave them seeds and/or seedlings in April and have monitored their success.  I  plan some classes this fall and winter to help them turn their gourds into art pieces.

I am a certified Master Gardener affilated with the Tulare-Kings Master Gardeners.  I plan to share my knowledge of growing and decorating gourds with my fellow Master Gardeners and the general public.

I grow a few really nice gourds and pamper them at evey stage.  I give them lots of water, steer manure and compost.  The 2008 crop looks spectacular so far!

I also grow pumpkins for Halloween decorations but this will be the last year for them.  They attract too many bugs that also destroy Gourds!

I have thirty or so Roses which is no big deal but I like the Gourds and Roses domain name.
